A lifelong Petaluma resident and graduate of UC Santa Cruz, people trust Blake because he shows up for them. For years, Blake has been a dedicated advocate for South Sonoma County, helping people get the support they need: navigating wildfire recovery, public health crises, housing instability, and broken processes. Blake has worked at all levels of government, most recently for Congressman Huffman and now at the California State Senate, while also serving on Petaluma’s Planning Commission, Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee, and Transit Advisory Committee. Blake and his now-wife Iliana met through their shared commitment to service. They’re known as the “dynamic duo” because they do their best work for the community together.
Centered on the historic river town of Petaluma, District 2 is a mixed urban and rural district that covers the South Sonoma County communities of Penngrove, Cotati, parts of Rohnert Park, and the agricultural and dairy regions that define our local landscape. District 2 is on the ancestral lands of the Coast Miwok, and is home to working families, farmers, entrepreneurs, veterans, public servants, teachers, students, kids, and retired people, all with a strong sense of community identity. Together, they make South Sonoma County a diverse and welcoming district, and Blake looks forward to serving all of them as their next Supervisor.
We deserve fair access to quality services from Sonoma County, regardless of what language we speak, how much we make, or where we live.
We need housing so people who grow up here can stay here, so we can raise our families here, and build a life here in Sonoma County.
We need resilient communities where we can live as safely as possible, and if we continue to face disasters driven by climate change, we shouldn’t need to leave Sonoma County to rebuild.
